creativity, commitment, and passion, take part in the first edition of the French Awards of the Western United States ! This event will highlight inspiring journeys and successful initiatives led by French nationals living in the land of Uncle Sam.
Following the success of its three editions in New York, lepetitjournal.com continues its momentum by showcasing the achievements of French expatriates in the Western United States who contribute to promoting France abroad. The winners will be honored on May 28, 2026, in the presence of the Consul General of France for the Southwest United States, Adrien Frier, at the French Residence in Los Angeles.

Who can participate ?
To take part in the French Awards of the Western United States organized by lepetitjournal.com, applicants must be over 18 years old, be of French nationality, live in one of the 13 Western U.S. states, and be able to demonstrate a significant experience.
Are you creative or an artist ? An entrepreneur ? Do you promote the French language and culture ? Do you highlight Franco-American heritage? We would love to hear from you! Simply complete our online application form.
Application deadline
Applications are open until April 10, 2026.
Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered. The award ceremony will take place on May 28, 2026 at the French Residence in Los Angeles.
The Jury
The jury, composed of professionals from the international mobility sector, will meet in April in Los Angeles to select the winners from a shortlist prepared by our editorial team.
Awards Ceremony
A prestigious evening will be held on May 28, 2026 at the French Residence in Los Angeles.
Hervé Heyraud, Founder and President of lepetitjournal.com, Benoît Clair, Director of the Los Angeles edition, Adrien Frier, Consul General of France for the Southwest United States, along with our partners, will present the awards in front of distinguished members of the French community (public officials, institutional representatives, decision-makers).
Winners of the French Awards of the Western United States will automatically be considered for the 2027 French Abroad Awards.
Award Categories
The awards aim to highlight outstanding individual achievements across the 13 Western U.S. states. Categories will be assigned based on each application.
Humanitarian Award, sponsored by CFE (Caisse des Français de l’étranger)
This award recognizes individuals playing a key role in strengthening social cohesion and reducing inequalities. The jury will pay close attention to the impact and results of their actions.
Lifting Up Legacy Award, sponsored by Delta Air Lines
This category highlights initiatives that preserve heritage, cultural legacy, and promote Franco-American relations.
Women Empowerment Award, sponsored by Santexpat
This category celebrates female talent, whether in business or through social and environmental initiatives. This category is open to women only.
People’s Choice Award, presented by Banque Transatlantique
Following the application phase, lepetitjournal.com, in partnership with Banque Transatlantique, will select between 5 and 10 candidates. An online voting campaign will take place in July 2026, and the winner will be chosen by the public.
Additional awards may be announced in the coming weeks.
Once selected by the jury, winners will receive:
- A train or plane ticket from their place of residence to the French Residence in Los Angeles
- One night in a hotel in Los Angeles
