Ready to celebrate France without leaving Dublin? On 14 July 2025, The Church Bar will burst into blue-white-red for Ireland’s biggest Bastille Day party—live brass, cancan dancers, French DJs, and free entry all day.
Dreaming of a plate of saucisson and cheese, a toast to liberty backed by a turbo-charged brass band, and a dance to French classics?
On Monday 14 July 2025, the legendary The Church Café, Late Bar & Restaurant will be draped in blue-white-red to host the largest Bastille Day celebration in Ireland has ever seen. With high-energy horns, French-Vibe DJs, a bistro menu and a French Cancan show, you’ll feel France come alive—just steps from O’Connell Street!
This free event is organised by The Church Bar, French Friday, Lepetitjournal Dublin and the French Embassy in Ireland, with support from Alliance Française Dublin, for a 100 % French immersion.
The Church: a historic pub turned party hotspot
Housed in the former 18th-century St Mary’s Church, The Church blends a monumental organ, oval bar and huge terrace. Award-winning for its restoration, it now features a brasserie, beer-garden and nightclub beneath the vaulted ceiling—an extraordinary setting where tourists, Dubliners and celebrities mingle. The perfect backdrop for an XXL Bastille Day!
The Terminus Brass Band rolls in!
Each year we welcome a brass band from France; this time the merry musicians come from Nantes and can’t wait to set The Church’s terrace alight. Follow the locomotive of Terminus Brass Band as they deliver several sizzling sets throughout the evening!
